Please pay special attention to the “(NOTE)” notation after some of the meeting listings.

NOVEMBER TIME CHANGE (NOTE) … On November 1st, some parts of Canada will revert back to Standard time, while others will not. Start times for most meetings are listed in both Eastern and Pacific. CCB-GTT APPS and TAPS LECTURE #3 with Michael Feir

Wednesday, November 4, 2026

1:00 PM Eastern/11:00 AM Pacific:

Host: Kim Kilpatrick

Presenter: Michael Feir

Description: The first session in our exploration of iPhone settings focused on connectivity and configuration. In the second part of our deep exploration of settings, we’ll begin with the group of settings having to do with how and when your iPhone makes you aware of information. This includes sounds and haptics, focus and notification settings. These will give you more power to decide under what circumstances your iPhone can interrupt what you’re doing. A good understanding of these settings is vital for blind users. We’ll also discuss the notifications centre and how to control which focus mode your iPhone is in using the Focus button in the control centre.

You are invited to check out the third edition of Michael Feir’s free e-book, Personal Power: Getting the Most From iOS as a Totally Blind User. This book can be downloaded in several formats from: https://michaelfeir.blogspot.com/2025/05/the-third-edition-of-personal-power.html

People who have trouble downloading the book in the format of their choice should email Michael directly at: Michael.feir@gmail.com
